Sotheby’s International Realty has announced its new advertising partnership with Apple as the exclusive real estate advertiser for one of its newest applications, Apple News. Notably, it is the only real estate brand out of 20 advertising partners featured. Apple News has been the #3 driving source for overall traffic on sothebysrealty.com, where Miami and Fort Lauderdale listings are regularly featured, since the mid-October launch. With 98% of users appearing to be new visitors to the site, the Apple News partnership has already shown to greatly enhance Sotheby’s International Realty’s global reach for listings’ exposure.
Sotheby’s International Realty owns a 25% “share of voice” (SOV)—the percentage of advertising for any one brand among all ads featured—in the dedicated business channel in Apple News and owns 5% in the “For You” section of the app. This personalized option supplies a feed of relevant news stories from sources and publications that are preselected by users. Alongside the advertising partnership, users may add the Sotheby’s International Realty channel within Apple News to receive articles from the brand’s “Extraordinary Living” blog.
Apple News is a brand new application baked into every Apple device running iOS 9 or newer, allowing us to potentially reach over 800 million iPhones and iPads. There are plans to supplement advertising with an additional Apple “iAD” advertising campaign. This allows Sotheby’s International Realty to achieve further exposure across thousands of other mobile apps, and it also reaches a global audience, targeting real estate enthusiasts all over the world.
